The Village, Claremont's downtown core, preserves historic landmarks including the neoclassical Carnegie Library and the Verbal Building, alongside the Claremont Packing House—a former citrus packing facility that now houses shops and restaurants. The district reflects the city's agricultural heritage from an era when citrus farming defined the region's economy. Tree-lined streets connect street-front boutiques, art galleries, small offices, and dining establishments that have evolved over decades into a community gathering place.

In 2007, downtown underwent a major expansion that added a cinema, boutique hotel, additional retail and office space, and parking infrastructure while maintaining the district's walkable, human-scaled character. The Folk Music Center Store and Museum, a longtime anchor tenant, hosts seasonal festivals including the popular Pie Day Festival each March 14. Nearby institutions such as the Claremont Museum of Art and the Benton Museum of Art at Pomona College draw residents and visitors to the neighborhood throughout the year.

Downtown Claremont functions as a social and economic hub for families: where parents meet friends for dinner after working in nearby offices, where teenagers explore shops and galleries on weekend afternoons, and where community members gather for seasonal celebrations. These daily patterns of social connection and civic participation are part of why families choose to build their lives here, making it natural to plan for the financial security of the people who share those moments.
